What is a Network

We think of a network as any group of autonomous individuals and organizations who come together to accomplish goals that none can accomplish alone. For us, it's a mechanism to identify and create opportunities, and to act on those opportunities.

Networks like ours are the form of organization that best reflects today's social and economic reality. As resource constraints continue to affect every aspect of community services, building partnerships help ensure survival and progress toward goals. The value of the population health approach, with its stress on community-based partnerships, community development and integrated services, has become widely accepted. Networks are an emerging organizational structure that can advance the desire for greater integration, while helping to facilitate truly collaborative effort.
