Vision and Mandate of the CYHNEO
A network is a group of autonomous individuals and organizations that comes together to accomplish goals that none can accomplish alone. It is a mechanism to identify and create opportunities, and to act on those opportunities in pursuit of a common vision of:
communities of healthy children and youth, based on
the World Health Organization's definition of health as
a "resource for everyday life...emphasizing social and
personal resources, as well as physical capacity.
To improve the health of and health services for children and youth, the CYHNEO will address a range of initiatives: from planning and priority setting to modeling integration and cross-sectoral partnerships; from innovative program development and advocacy to community capacity building; from system integration to networking.
Our Values
We value
- the rights, individuality and diversity of each child and youth as outlined in the Convention of the Rights of the Child (United Nations 1989)
- We value the principle of working in partnership - with children, youth and their families, and with all service providers in Eastern Ontario communities.
- We value a service delivery system that is responsive, flexible, effective, efficient and creative.
- We value opportunities to take risks, to create and to do things differently.
As partners for the health and well-being of children and youth, we agree to:
