CYHNEO Steering Committee
The Steering Committee oversees the direction and priorities of the CYHNEO, ensuring compliance with its vision, principles and values. It makes decisions, including those affecting resource allocation and priorities, on behalf of organizational and individual members and ensures accountability to the membership through regular communication and consultation. Members act as critical conduits between the Steering Committee and other community groups (e.g. agencies, coalitions) and ensure that materials and updates from the CYHNEO are distributed to the various constituents as appropriate.
The Steering Committee is comprised of 18 representatives of organizational members, and up to 4 ‘members at large' to address any imbalances in representation. Membership will reflect the diversity of the communities and sectors serving children and youth and their families/caregivers. Members bring their unique expertise and experience to discussions and decisionmaking and are not there representing their own organization nor it's priorities.
Ex-Officio Representatives
Ex-officio, non-voting members of the Steering Committee, include:
- representatives of key government ministries or their agents (i.e.Champlain Local Health Integration Network, Ministry of Children and Youth Services)
- permanent members of the secretariat at CHEO
The chairs, or their delegates, of the Working Groups and the Advisory Forums are welcomed non-voting guests at meetings of the Steering Committee.
