Multicultural Community Advisory Committee
Working in partnership with the Multiculturalism Program, the Multicultural Community Advisory Committee (MCAC) is a working group of the CYHNEO and acts as an advisory committee of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). This resource body is made up of hospital staff and representatives from the diverse ethnocultural communities CHEO serves. Through their various experiences, members are able to assist in the elimination of barriers that prevent children, youth, and families from accessing culturally appropriate health care services.
Composition of the CAC
By involving the staff and community members from diverse ethnocultural backgrounds, the CAC strives to reflect the community diversity of the city of Ottawa. Representatives bring a broad spectrum of personal and professional experience related to health and culture, fostering interdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration.
