The OCHAI Housing & Health Toolbox for Children & Youth
The Housing & Health Toolbox for Children & Youth is a series of resources for health and community professionals working with children, youth and families. The toolbox is designed to enable professionals to better understand and work with their clients to help address housing issues through educational resources and practical tools.

Use the tools to work towards improving the housing and health conditions of the children, youth and families you work with:
Educational tool: The educational tool consists of a series of resources for health and community professionals, families and youth with the aim of raising awareness of the impact of housing on child and youth health. These resources describe the research substantiating the link between housing, environmental hazards and child and youth health. They also provide an overview of the context and scope of housing issues.
Screening tool: The screening tool offers a series of screening questions that enable professionals to assess children, youth and families for possible housing concerns and risk factors.
Referral tool: If housing concerns arise during the screening process, the referral tool facilitates professionals in directing youth and families to appropriate resources in their community.
